Whether it be a solo artist or a duo through to a Big Band, Nev is able to organise most entertainment to suit the genre. His "Wizard-Classic Hits Band" is without doubt the regions most popular live gig band. With a repertoire ranging from 50's through to the present day added to brilliant instrumental skills and jazz options. The full four piece line-up with Nev at the helm features the man himself on bass and lead vocals, the local legend Gabor Tolnay from Hungary on keyboards, Mike Ching on guitar / vocals, and brother Dale Ching on drums/vocals, "Wizard" is without equal in the Nelson/Marlborough area with the range of material and styles they perform. Wizard can operate as a trio for those laid-back functions or expand through to a full 6 piece with top professional horn players.
Nev also performs and fronts the vocals in Nelson's highly respected Steve Flemming Band encompassing a range of Jazz Standards through to Jazz Funk. The musicians in this combo are the cream of Nelson's handpicked best. Steve Flemming on tenor and alto sax, Gabor Tolnay on keys, Martin Hucklesby on guitar, Tony Bowater on drums, and of course Nev on bass/vocals. His Mr Music Trio featuring Gabor on keyboards is the first-choice for corporate and private functions. The re-emergence of the popular "Gabor Trio" with Chris Cowles on bass and Simon Terrill on drums, sees Nev also fronting the vocals.
